This section of Tilton River is 8.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. The put-in is not too far from Centralia, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The wonderful Lewis County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Tilton River beats anything. The nearby hotels are
a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. The Morton to Bremer
section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
Briefly about the general area: Put some time aside to spend at Weasel Spring if you're here at Tilton River. Tilton River is a wet place that gets a lot of rain; December is when you get the most rain here, and July on the other
hand is the driest. High temperatures at Tilton River during the warmest time of the year are in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Tilton River descend into the 30's.
