If you're coming from Centralia it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. The nearby hotels
    are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The above Tilton confluence stretch of Tilton River - North Fork is 2.5 miles long and is according to
American Whitewater a class IV section of whitewater. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. This is a somewhat short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots.
