The put-in is not too far from Longview-Kelso, as you can see on the road map further down. This section of Toutle River - North Fork in Washington is 10 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II+ section of whitewater. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good rivers     for that around here. There's camping available near Toutle River - North Fork. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your camp stove. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too.
