The Trout Lake to White Salmon River stretch of Trout Lake Creek in Washington is 2.8 miles long and has been rated as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. The starting location is a short drive from Hood River, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The scenic beauty of Skamania/Klickitat County and the cool fresh water beats anything. stretch is the only paddling stretch along Trout Lake Creek. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors
are great reasons to come. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times.

80's, and the overnight is rather chillier of course, frequently in the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Trout Lake Creek drop into the 20's. Trout Lake Creek is a wet place that gets a good deal of rain; December is the wettest month with most snow, and the driest month is July.
