If you're coming from Port Angeles it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch of Tshletshy River in Washington is 20 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less
forgiving. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that
around here. The beautiful scenery of Washington and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. Tshletshy River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Headwaters to Queets Campground section is the only one. Whitewater paddling here in the Olympic Mountains is a great experience. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.

is a wet location that gets a great deal of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is December, and the driest month of the year is August. For the duration of the summer highs here at Tshletshy River get into the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the
40's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Tshletshy River fall into the 30's.
