The beautiful scenery of Washington and the water flowing gracefully down Twisp River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This is the only paddling section along Twisp River. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. This stretch of Twisp River in Okanogan County is 10 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III section. A bit
of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often tougher than elsewhere, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here
are not suitable for beginners. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery.
Briefly about the general area: Twisp River is commonly a relatively dried up spot; during December this area sees the most snow while July is commonly the driest month.
