The natural beauty of Washington and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. This section is quite short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The rivers for whitewater     rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The Surprise Creek to Alpine Falls section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Tye River a wet site; January is the wettest month with most snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summertime brings highs in the 60's to Tye River with night lows in the 40's.   Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Tye River.
