There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Surprise Creek to Alpine Falls section is one of them. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. This is a short paddling stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. This stretch of Tye River is 3.25 miles     long and has been rated as a class V section by American Whitewater. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. There's camping available near Tye River. Briefly about the general area: It's always tremendous to stop by Deception Falls. For the period of the summer at Tye River highs are generally in the 60's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 20's with temperatures at Tye River dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights.   Tye River is a pretty wet place ordinarily with a great deal of rain; January is when you get the most snow here, and the driest month of the year is July.
