This section of Tye River in King County is 7.2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV+ section. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The Alpine Falls to Beckler River section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river,     and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. The campgrounds here at Tye River are pretty good. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Briefly about the general area: Through the summertime, highs mostly are in the 70's at Tye River. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Tye River temperatures drop to the 30's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Tye River a wet site; most of the rain falls all through December; July on the other hand is the driest.
