The wild scenery of the Northern Cascade Range is great. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The wonderful Washington scenery and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. A good workout and just being out     on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. This section of Washougal River in Skamania County is 4.3 miles long and has been rated as a class V section by American Whitewater. The campgrounds here at Washougal River are pretty good. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Prospector's Creek to Doc's Drop stretch is just one of them. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: These mountains rock, just look at all the cool stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. High temperatures at Washougal River through the summertime months are in the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs throughout   the winter are ordinarily in the 40's, and night lows in the 30's for Washougal River. Washougal River gets a large amount of water; most of the rain falls through December, and July meanwhile is the driest month. There is a fine hiking trail near Washougal River called the Washougal Trail, and going for a hike on the Green Leaf Trail is always a good adventure.
