Skamania
county,
Doc's Drop to Dougan Falls section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS V 3 miles
The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This section of Washougal River is 3 miles long and it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Skamania County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is a bit of a short stretch so no need to bring snacks. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is
a great plus for this river. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The Doc's Drop to Dougan Falls section is one of many paddling sections
in this river system. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come.

has to offer. Washougal River is a rather wet place mostly with a great deal of rain; December is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is July.
