Washington whitewater - Washougal River, Northern Cascade Range, Skamania County
Skamania
county,
Doc's Drop to Dougan Falls section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS V 3 miles
This section of Washougal River is 3 miles long and is a class V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This section is quite short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The Doc's Drop to Dougan Falls section is one of many paddling sections in this river
system. The natural beauty of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting some
good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
