  The beautiful scenery of Washington and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. The Dougan Falls to Salmon Falls stretch of Washougal River in Clark/ Skamania County is 6 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states,
    so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. There's camping available near Washougal River. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good
rivers. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

During the warm months here at Washougal River, high temperatures usually reach the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's
 
while the cold winter nights at Washougal River are in the 30's. Dougan Falls is a beautiful location to pop by while you're at Washougal River, and pleasant hiking is available along the Washougal Trail.
Man, is there plenty of amusing stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. The high level of rainfall makes Washougal River a quite wet place; all through the month of December you get the most rain around here; July is the month with the least moisture.
