The natural beauty of Chelan County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. This stretch of Wenatchee River in Chelan County is 16.5 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Ellensburg, as you can see on the road map further down. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might
find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be
paddled as well. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus.
Briefly about the general area: A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Wenatchee River; the month with most of the snow is January while July is the month with the least
amount of precipitation. A magnificent site to go to next to Wenatchee River is Deadhorse Canyon, and Leavenworth Ranger District is a forest that you can go to. So much exciting stuff to do here in the Northern Cascade Range, too magnificent to be true. For the duration of
the days of summer at Wenatchee River temperatures are regularly in the 70's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 40's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's; night lows during the winter for Wenatchee River tend to be in the 10's.
