This stretch of Wenatchee River in Chelan County is 16.5 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The starting point is not too far from Ellensburg, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. The scenic beauty of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. Whitewater rafting and
kayaking in Washington is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. This river system has a few good paddling
sections and the Lake Wenatchee State Park to Tumwater Campground section is one of them. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.

Canyon, and nearby you'll hit upon a wooded neighborhood called Leavenworth Ranger District. Through the summertime highs here at Wenatchee River get into the 70's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with temperatures
at Wenatchee River dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Wenatchee River is a good location of normal rain; January is the wettest month with most snow, and July is when it's the driest. But wait, there's more amusing stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range.
