The put-in is not too far from Ellensburg, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The beautiful scenery of Chelan County and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch of Wenatchee
River is 7.5 miles long and it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. This is one
of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places.
Briefly about the general area: Castle Rock is an attention-grabbing place to check out while at Wenatchee River; hiking is a popular thing to do around Wenatchee River; Snow Lakes Trail is a magnificent local trail. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Wenatchee River while night lows are
typically in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Wenatchee River. Wenatchee River gets a normal amount of rainfall; January is the month that gets the most snow, and the driest month is July.
