The Leavenworth to Monitor section of Wenatchee River is 18.6 miles long and has been rated as a class III section by American Whitewater. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The scenic beauty of Chelan County and the water flowing     gracefully down Wenatchee River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your camping stuff. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. Briefly about the general area: The yearly precipitation here at Wenatchee River is about average; during the month of January you get the most snow around here, and the driest of the months is July. While staying at Wenatchee River you could   always discover Ollala Canyon, and don't leave Wenatchee River without first checking out Peshastin Pinnacles. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Wenatchee River. During the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Wenatchee River temperatures descend to the 10's.
