The put-in location is a short drive from Bellingham, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This section of Whatcom Creek in Washington is 2 miles long and is a class III-IV+(V+) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The Lake Whatcom to Yew St. Bridge section is the only paddling section along Whatcom Creek. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number     of paddling rivers. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. This is a short paddling stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere.
