The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. The Silver Springs Campground to West Fork White section of White River in Washington is 10 miles long and it is classified as a class III section by American Whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. All the water falling down from the sky makes White River a wet place; through November this area sees the most rain, and July   is the month with the least moisture. At White River through the long summer days highs are in the 70's; the night is a tad chillier of course, usually in the 50's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 30's for White River. Hiking is a popular thing to do around White River; Sun Top Trail is a perfect local trail; no need to travel far to stop at interesting stuff like The Dalles.
