If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The put-in location is a short drive from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, as you can see on the road map further down. There are some good hotels near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The beautiful scenery of Pierce County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. Getting some good exercise and
a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your camping stuff. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you
are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Buckley to Auburn stretch is one of them.
Briefly about the general area: White River gets a common amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. Through the months of summer, highs frequently are in the 70's at White River. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for White River tend to be in the 30's.
