Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. If you're coming from Hood River it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. The Warner Road Bridge to Green Truss Bridge stretch of White Salmon River in Klickitat County is 5.1 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V section. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be
paddled as well. The campgrounds here at White Salmon River are pretty good. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for
that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. The nature scenery of Washington and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip.
