The put-in is not too far from Hood River, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nature scenery of Klickitat County and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery
is an added bonus. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better
keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near.
