  The put-in is not too far from Hood River, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nature scenery of Klickitat County and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery
    is an added bonus. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better
keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. The Warner Road Bridge to Green Truss Bridge section of White Salmon River in Washington is 5.1 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V section. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots.

Briefly about the general area:
The warmest time of the year at White Salmon River arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once
 
the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and night lows in the 20's for White Salmon River. Trout Lake Valley is a magnificent place to discover.
All the water falling down from the sky makes White Salmon River a wet spot; during the month of December you get the most snow around here, and July is the month with the least moisture.
