The nature scenery of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The starting point is not too far from Hood River, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This stretch of White Salmon River in Washington is 7 miles long and is a class III+(V) section of whitewater
according to American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with
plenty of rivers for that. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the BZ Corner to Buck Creek stretch is just one of them. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often tougher than elsewhere, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip.
