The natural beauty of Klickitat County and the water flowing gracefully down White Salmon River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good rivers for that around here. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Washington you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that     quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Hood River, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the BZ Corner to Buck Creek stretch is just one of them. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There's camping available near White Salmon River. White Salmon River sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is commonly December, that's the one that snows the most, and the driest month is July.
