CLASS I-II 7.2 miles
The put-in location is a short drive from Hood River, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The wonderful Skamania County scenery and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers.
Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. When you're paddling down a Northern Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. You can pitch a tent or park your
RV at a nearby campground. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Mineral Springs to Stabler stretch is just one of them. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip.
