This section of Wind River in Washington is 5 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V(V+) section by American Whitewater. The starting location is a short drive from Hood River, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. There are some good hotels near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while

Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Wind River a wet place; December is the month that gets the most rain; July is when it's the driest.
For the period of the months of summer at Wind River temperatures are mostly in the 70's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Wind River are in the 30's. This place, the Northern Cascade Range, has so much outdoors amusing stuff. Wind River is right by the Huckleberry Trail; do take a hike on the Cedar Creek Trail.
