The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. The scenic beauty of Washington and the water flowing gracefully down Wynoochee River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.
The Wynoochee Reservoir to Save Creek section is the only paddling section along Wynoochee River. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot
of people coming here. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Aberdeen, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The river winds through the Olympic Mountains and you get great scenery. This section of Wynoochee River in Washington is 11.1 miles long and has been determined
by American Whitewater to be a class II-III(V) section. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
