The Confluence with Teanaway River to Thorp stretch of Yakima River in Washington is 15.1 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. If you're coming from Ellensburg it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The nature scenery of Washington and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camping stuff
too. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often more challenging than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. This is the only paddling stretch along Yakima River. The Northern Cascade
Range scenery is wonderful. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
