The CR 17/2 bridge to confluence of Meadow River stretch of Anglins Creek is 9.5 miles long and it is classified as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Nicholas County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in West Virginia are often more forgiving than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The campgrounds here at Anglins Creek are pretty good. The put-in location is a short drive from
Oak Hill, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an
afternoon. Anglins Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the CR 17/2 bridge to confluence of Meadow River stretch is the only one. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
