This stretch of Anthony Creek in Greenbrier County is 5.4 miles long and has been rated as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This stretch is mid length,
suitable for an afternoon trip. The Blue Bend Recreation Area to confluence of Greenbrier River stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling
places. The nature scenery of Greenbrier County and the cool fresh water beats anything.
Briefly about the general area: The high level of precipitation makes Anthony Creek a pretty wet place; through July this area sees the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. Take a hike on the Peach Orchard Trail. During the summertime, highs usually are in the 80's at Anthony Creek, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while Anthony Creek overnight low temperatures
throughout the wintertime are in the 10's. Anthony Creek is right by the Blue Bend Loop Trail, and you could always explore Big Draft.
