The beautiful scenery of Fayette County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. This is a short paddling stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The average West Virginia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy.     This is the only paddling section along Arbuckle Creek. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. This section of Arbuckle Creek is 3.7 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. There are many good hotels to choose from, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Briefly about the general area: Through the summer here at Arbuckle Creek, high temperatures regularly get into the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Arbuckle Creek. Arbuckle Creek mostly gets much   rainfall; through the month of July you get the most rain around here while February is commonly the driest month.
