CLASS III-IV 3.7 miles
This stretch of Arbuckle Creek is 3.7 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. The put-in is not too far from Oak Hill, as you can see on the road map further down. There are no other stretches to paddle along Arbuckle Creek than the Oak Hill to New stretch. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or
kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The nature scenery of Fayette County and the playfulness
of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This is a pretty short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. No need to look hard for hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
