  The wonderful West Virginia scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Armstrong Creek make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in West Virginia tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Powellton to Kimberly section is one of
    them. The starting location is a short drive from Oak Hill, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The Powellton to Kimberly section of
Armstrong Creek in West Virginia is 4.1 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip.
