The McDunn to Powellton stretch of Armstrong Creek - Powellton Fork in Fayette County is 3.2 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. The put-in is not too far from Oak Hill, as you can see on the road map further down. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the McDunn to Powellton section is one of them. A bit of exercise
and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The campgrounds here at Armstrong
