there is a broken out dam just upstream of rt. 93 with easy (but private) access. running the rubble at this dam provides a good gauge of what you will find/need downstream. just remember that this is unposted private property and do not block the road for access by large work vehicles. This section of Beaver Creek is 11 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than
the national average, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. There's camping available near Beaver Creek. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging
is available very near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The nature scenery of West Virginia and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. The Headwaters along Route 93 to Blackwater River section is the only paddling section along Beaver Creek.
Briefly about the general area: Near Beaver Creek you discover the Lindy Run Trail which is a good hiking trail, and going for a
hike on the Plantation Trail is always a nice adventure. A great deal of rain falls at Beaver Creek; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is October. At Beaver Creek through the warm months highs are in the 80's. All
through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Beaver Creek.
