This section of Big Creek is 2.5 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in West Virginia tend to be more forgiving     than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. Briefly about the general area: All through the summer months here at Big Creek, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows in the   10's for Big Creek. Big Creek is a reasonably wet place typically with lots of rain; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
