CLASS II-IV 2.5 miles
The nature scenery of West Virginia and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. This stretch of Big Creek is 2.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-IV section. The starting location is a short drive from Oak Hill, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no
problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There's camping available near Big Creek. This section is quite short so better bring some good walking shoes. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is
an area with plenty of rivers for that. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in West Virginia tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the CR 10 bridge to Greenbrier River section is one of them.
