The Pennsylvania-West Virginia State Line to Bruceton Mills stretch of Big Sandy Creek is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The nature scenery of Preston WV / Fayette/PA     County and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. The Pennsylvania-West Virginia State Line to Bruceton Mills section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Briefly about the general area: Big Sandy Creek is a good site of typical rain; through July this area sees the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. For the duration of the long summer days at   Big Sandy Creek highs are ordinarily in the 80's; the overnight is slightly cooler of course, commonly in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's while Big Sandy Creek night low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's.
