The scenic beauty of Preston County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. If you're coming from Morgantown it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Rockville to Jenkinsburg Bridge section is one of them. IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good

If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside West Virginia you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy.
