Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in West Virginia are easier than the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. This stretch of Big Sandy River - Tug Fork is 8.8 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are some good stretches to paddle in
this river system, the Wharncliffe to Devon stretch is one of them. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. When you're paddling down a Cumberland Plateau Mountains river like this one you always get
great scenery along the way too. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
