The scenic beauty of Tucker County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. The Wildlife Preserve to Davis stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Briefly about the general area: Summer at Blackwater River arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while Blackwater River overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's. Blackwater River is a relatively wet place mostly with a large amount of precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here, and October is when it's the driest.   Put some time aside to spend at Devils Run Spring since you're here at Blackwater River, and nearby you come across the Lindy Run Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail.
