The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Clarksburg, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. This section of Buckhannon River in West Virginia is 2.3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that. You might
have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The wonderful West Virginia scenery and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The campgrounds here at Buckhannon
River are pretty good. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. This is a somewhat short section so better bring some good walking shoes.
