The natural beauty of West Virginia and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Star to Alexander stretch is just one of many. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come     because it is a very popular destination. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more.
