The West Virginia 72 to Macomber section of Buffalo Creek in West Virginia is 4.9 miles long and it is classified as a class III section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in West Virginia is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.     The scenic beauty of Preston County and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. The campgrounds here at Buffalo Creek are pretty good. This is the only paddling section along Buffalo Creek. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip.
