This section of Cheat River in West Virginia is 10.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming     from far and near. The beautiful scenery of West Virginia and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The campgrounds here at Cheat River are pretty good. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Albright to Jenkinsburg Bridge section is just one of many. Briefly about the general area: During the warm days of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 80's   at Cheat River. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are usually in the 30's while Cheat River nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. Long Hollow is a good spot to spend some time at. Cheat River gets a normal amount of annual precipitation; July is the month that gets the most rain while February is commonly the driest month.
