The beautiful scenery of Preston County and the water flowing gracefully down Daugherty Run are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. There are no other stretches to paddle along Daugherty Run than the Co. |

Road 3-12 to Cheat River stretch. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get
| to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The put-in location is a short drive from Morgantown, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost.
