The natural beauty of West Virginia and the water flowing gracefully down Difficult Creek attract people from near and far. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. This section of Difficult Creek in West Virginia is 4.4 miles long and is a class V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. For all you camping people
there are campgrounds nearby. Difficult Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Upstream to Potomac North Branch Close to Gormania stretch is the only one. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. You
might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come.
Briefly about the general area: For the period of the long summer days highs here at Difficult Creek get into the 70's while nighttime lows are generally in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Difficult Creek temperatures descend
to the 10's. Dales Spring is a great local attraction. Difficult Creek gets a lot of water; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture.
