  The Orndoff Church to confluence with Right Fork of Holly River Close to Diana stretch of Grassy Creek in Webster County is 4.5 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of West Virginia and the water flowing gracefully down Grassy Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The Orndoff Church to confluence
    with Right Fork of Holly River Close to Diana section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater
rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The average West Virginia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy. Getting your  
    paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more.

Briefly about the general area:
There is a great hiking trail close to Grassy Creek called the
  Salt Lick Trail, and Barrenshe Hollow is close at hand, and is a great place. The Tramontane Trail is a glorious hiking trail near Grassy Creek, and there are plenty of folks from Diana here. This river has so much to offer. Holly River State Park is both good and striking, and it's right next door to Grassy Creek. Grassy Creek sees pretty high levels of rain. July is the wettest month with most rain; the driest of the months is February.
