This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. This section of Greenbrier River in West Virginia is 10 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. The Cass to Clover Lick section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in West Virginia are often easier than in other states, so
better not forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. For all you camping people there are campgrounds
nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near.
Briefly about the general area: Good hiking is available along the Scarlet Oak Trail; don't leave Greenbrier River without first going for a hike along the Hill Top Trail. Greenbrier River is a wet place that gets a large amount of rain; July is the wettest month with most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. The warmest
time of the year at Greenbrier River comes with high temperatures in the 70's while night lows are usually in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are regularly in the 30's while Greenbrier River nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's. Lots of fun awaits you along this river. The skiing at Snowshoe is pleasant, and there's a forest here called Seneca State Forest.
