  Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in West Virginia are easier than the national norm, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. This section of Greenbrier River in West Virginia is 7.2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I(III) section. The put-in is not too far from Blacksburg-Christiansburg-Radford. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip.
    There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The beautiful scenery of West Virginia and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The nearby hotels are
a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.

  the period of the summer months at Greenbrier River temperatures are commonly in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Greenbrier River sink into the 10's.
