The Ronceve Route to Fort Spring stretch of Greenbrier River in West Virginia is 9.2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The nature scenery of West Virginia and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is the only paddling stretch along Greenbrier River. No shortage of good hotels, and if you make reservations
in advance you're all set. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people.

about the general area: Summertime at Greenbrier River comes with high temperatures in the 70's while night lows are ordinarily in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are usually in the 30's; throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Greenbrier River temperatures descend to the 10's. Going for a hike on the Youngs Nature Trail is always a nice adventure. Greenbrier River is a wet site that gets a large amount of rain; through the month of July you get the most rain around here while January is mostly the driest month.
