The FS 51 to Island Campground section of Greenbrier River - East Fork is 5.1 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The campgrounds here at Greenbrier River - East Fork are pretty good. There are so many sections to paddle in
this river system, the FS 51 to Island Campground section is just one of many. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in West Virginia are often more forgiving than in
other states, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places.
