This stretch of Lick Run in West Virginia is 2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV section. The starting location is a short drive from Morgantown, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. of good rivers. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. The campgrounds here at Lick Run are pretty good. This is a pretty short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. This is the only paddling
| stretch along Lick Run. No shortage of good hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The wonderful West Virginia scenery and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far.
Briefly about the general area:
High temperatures at Lick Run throughout the summer are in the 80's while nighttime lows are generally in the 60's. All through the wintertime highs are regularly in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Lick Run. Lick Run is a good place of typical rainfall; July is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
