The beautiful scenery of Braxton County and the water flowing gracefully down Little Kanawha River make the trip here worthwhile. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance
because these hotels fill up quick. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the at Falls Mill section is one of them. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Getting a good
workout and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. This section is very short so better bring some good walking shoes.
Briefly about the general area: Summertime highs at Little Kanawha River frequently tend to be in the 80's. Summer night lows sink down to the 60's. During the winter highs are mostly in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Little Kanawha River. The high level of rainfall makes Little Kanawha River a relatively wet site; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
