The beautiful scenery of Greenbrier/Nicholas County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The CR39/11 to confluence with Cherry River stretch of Little Laurel Creek is 5.1 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. The CR39/11 to confluence with Cherry River section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. No need
to look hard for hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers
for that.
Briefly about the general area: Have a brilliant hiking adventure along the Hinkle Branch Trail, and a brilliant site is Huggins Hollow. High temperatures at Little Laurel Creek all through the months of summer are in the 80's while overnight lows are generally in the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Little Laurel Creek are in the 20's. Hiking along the Barrenshe Trail is brilliant fun. Little Laurel Creek sees pretty high levels of rain; the month with most of the rain is July while February is generally the driest month.
