The nature scenery of Pocahontas County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. The FS 17 to Burner section of Little River is 3 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. Since you're on this     site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. This is a bit of a short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Going for a hike along the Burner Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. If the weather is fine here at Little River, you can go for a hike along the East Fork Trail; Reservoir Hollow is in the neighborhood, and is a magnificent place. Lots of rainfall falls at Little River; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest of the months is February. Throughout the long summer days highs   here at Little River reach the 80's. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 50's. Highs through the winter are frequently in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Little River are in the 10's.
