The nature scenery of Grant County and the playfulness of the water beats anything. This stretch of Lunice Creek in West Virginia is 7.3 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the West Virginia 42 to US220 section is one of them. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so you'd better keep
in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. For all you
camping people there are campgrounds nearby. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near.
Briefly about the general area: Through the days of summer at Lunice Creek temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's, and the night is fairly chillier of course, commonly in the 50's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Lunice Creek through the winter frequently drop into the 10's. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Ebb Spring. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lunice Creek a wet site; through July this area sees the most rain, and October is when it's the driest.
